Lino Cutting
PLANT PRINT
FAVOURITE THING:
I absolutely love looking close up at the white swatch of printing as it contrasts with the blue and easily reveals all the unique details that this process has to offer. I love the individuality of each print because of the different amounts of ink each time
PRINTING WITH BLUE INK
From cutting away the lino material around my shape, I then put ink in my tray and with my roller, evenly spread the ink on the lino stencil.
Once the blue lino stencil had a sufficient amount of ink, I proceeded to print it onto different media
MATERIALS/ITEMS I USED:
Lino Sheet
Tray
Ink Paint
Ink Roller
Lino Cutting Tools
White Paper/Brown Paper/Shopping Bag
CUTTING THE LINO
I started off with a clean piece of lino, drew on the face of it the shape of the leaves and then with the cutting tools, I cut away the material that wasn't the leaf shapes. The parts (leaf shapes) I left were to be the parts that would be seen with the paint that I used for the prints.
ONTO WHITE PAPER:
This print onto white paper is my favourite.
